About Me and How I Work
Training and Therapeutic Approach
Dr. Elizabeth Moore, psychologist
I was born in England, and after a few years spent there and some in the USA, I spent the years of my youth in a small village in the Bolognese countryside. Padua welcomed me for my years of study, and later became my home.

I am registered in the Register of Psychologists of Emilia Romagna, with n. 9926.
Graduated in Padua in 2009 in psychological sciences of personality and interpersonal relationships , I then obtained a master's degree in developmental psychology .
Over the years I have studied some particular issues, with specific psychodiagnostic and cognitive-behavioral techniques , which I use in my meetings.
In this way I was also able to build spaces and teams to be able to deepen collaborations and experiences.
I collaborate with professionals in the sector such as psychologists, pedagogists, counselors, psychotherapists, phytotherapists ..
- Cognitive Behavioral Techniques and Approach
Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology is based on the premise that there is a close relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my work, I frequently use this approach, which allows me to identify and modify dysfunctional thought patterns and help people develop more adaptive strategies.
- Specific Psychodiagnostic Pathways
Psychological diagnosis aims to evaluate personality characteristics and aspects through the use of questionnaires, tests, clinical interviews, and observational assessments.
I use tests and other standardized tools for the analysis of needs and motivations, social interaction, cognitive processes and psychological suitability for specific tasks.
- Psychological Counseling and Therapeutic Alliance with Adolescents
Psychological Counseling is based on interpersonal communication, listening, empathy, and support. It is well suited to working with adolescents, with whom it is essential to establish what is known as a Therapeutic Alliance, the bond created with the therapist that allows them to work together.
Actual Training of Cognitive-Behavioral derivation for the management of Stress and I use Relaxation Techniques
There are numerous techniques and tools that can be combined with traditional therapies, which are very useful in various situations and can represent a quick and effective first response to help those in difficulty. Among these is Mindfulness, for which I have obtained a certification as a MINDFULNESS EDUCATOR.
- The Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology allowed me to delve deeper into the issues related to Development
Children and young people undergo significant changes throughout their growth and maturation process and can develop difficulties on a personal and relational level as well as in areas associated with learning.
- In recent years I have had the opportunity to delve deeper into a topic dear to me, Legal and Forensic Psychology, exploring its legal, family, and family mediation implications.
In particular, I have also worked with couple conflicts and relational dynamics, focusing on how these can affect family life and conflict management, providing support and concrete solutions in both legal and psychological fields
In my practice I deal with psychological disorders of adults , adolescents and children :
I appeal to adults, adolescents and minors :
-
through interventions of rehabilitation, functional re-education and social integration of people with practical disabilities, with neuropsychological deficits or with psychiatric disorders;
-
for anxiety problems, phobias and panic attacks
-
mood disturbances, depression
-
psychosomatic disorders
-
stress-related disorders
-
Direct interventions to the couple relationship, to the parent-child relationship and to reduce the family burden;
-
Psycho-educational interventions aimed at minors such as health promotion activities, modification of risk behaviors, insertion and social participation;
-
Support interventions in cases of learning problems
For further information you can go to the Areas of Intervention page , where you will find in detail the problems and disorders that I deal with, divided by the age at which they generally manifest themselves.
Over the years, I've been able to build spaces and teams to deepen collaborations and experiences. I collaborate with professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, pedagogists, counselors, psychotherapists, and herbalists.

The First Meeting and Initial Objectives
The sessions, which I conduct exclusively in Italian, can take place in person or, when not possible, online
The first meeting, in particular, represents a crucial step.
This moment is crucial to establish a connection and fully understand the nature of the problem,
For this reason, I reserve more time for the first meeting than for other appointments— about an hour and a half . This time allows us to get to know each other a little, understand the difficulties and needs you bring to therapy, and identify together the problem areas that will be explored in greater depth in subsequent sessions. Furthermore, during this phase, we will explore possible therapeutic options we could pursue.
Whenever possible, during the first meeting, practical tools (techniques) will be introduced to help address difficulties, providing concrete resources.
It is an opportunity to create a climate of trust and collaboration, essential for the success of therapeutic work.

The first meeting was unhurried and lasted about an hour and a half.

We will understand together and share the areas of difficulty

We will share the goals and possible therapeutic paths
THE INITIAL PHASE a therapeutic path is usually divided into 3-5 meetings.
This time is dedicated to building an authentic connection and gathering the key information needed to better understand the person’s difficulties, concerns, and goals.
It is a phase of mutual exploration, where expectations and needs are discussed in depth, main goals are defined together, and the therapeutic work approach is outlined.
This moment helps lay a solid foundation for the therapeutic process and fosters a sense of trust, allowing for a focused and meaningful exploration of the issues brought to therapy.
In this phase, practical tools and useful strategies will be taught that the person can use independently at home, through exercises and techniques learned during the sessions

NB: The above applies to meetings with adults. Children and adolescents , however, require different methods that are adapted based on their age, context, and specific needs.

The Therapeutic Alliance
The therapeutic alliance in adults has long been recognized as a fundamental component of successful psychological therapy.
It is a potentially unifying construct in a field where clinicians and researchers have historically been tied to particular approaches.
Over the years, researchers have defined the alliance in many ways, such as the therapeutic bond, therapeutic alliance, and working alliance. Each term has led to a slightly different definition.
